A supermoto is a dirt bike set up for tarmac — a motocross or enduro-style chassis fitted with smaller-diameter road wheels, sticky street tyres and often uprated brakes. The result is a light, upright, flickable bike built for aggressive riding on sealed roads, kart tracks and mixed surfaces.
Supermoto vs Motocross vs Enduro
Motocross bikes run large-diameter knobby tyres for dirt tracks. Enduro bikes are set up for long-distance off-road terrain. A supermoto takes that same lightweight, upright platform and swaps to 17-inch road wheels and slick or semi-slick tyres, trading off-road ability for genuine on-road agility and braking.
